Description
The course aims to teach children basic aspects of dealing with emergencies, with an emphasis on those occurring in the home.
Handling ‘life threatening’ situations is covered as well as recognising and responding to some of the more common ailments that may be encountered at home.
Objectives
On completion of the course, delegates will be able to recognize and deal with:
- The principles of first aid
- Emergency actions
- Unconscious casualties
- Non-breathing casualties
- Head injuries

There are no Prerequisites for this course.
Suitability
The course is ideal for parents and carers of young children and who feel that a basic knowledge in the subject would be useful to older students or siblings.

7+ or Year 5 upwards, Home Study Groups or Parents, Grand-Parents, Parents, Play schemes.
Qualification
On completion of the course, delegates will receive an ‘Emergency First Aider’ certificate which is valid for three years.
