Description
This course teaches the Early Years First Aid principles for children and infants. Emphasis is on common illnesses and injuries directly associated to babies and young children.
A course is specially designed to work towards meeting the requirements of Sure Start, NCMA, PLA and EYDCP but will not be sufficient for anyone working in a childcare setting, for this a candidate will need to register on the 2-day course
Objectives
On completion of the course, delegates will be able to recognize and deal with:
- The principles of Early Years First Aid for infants & children.
- Legalities
- Resuscitation
- Dealing with an Unresponsive casualty
- Minor Injuries
- Assessment of an emergency situation
- Epilepsy
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Anaphylaxis
- Shock
- Management of an unwell child

There are no Prerequisites for this course.

The course is ideal for people who deal with children suffering from illnesses or injuries and who feel that knowledge in the subject would be useful to their company.

Qualification
On satisfactory completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate of completion which is valid for three years.
